Providing education, mentoring and support services that build strong individuals and families in the Northland Community School District

Mentoring Matters

Join the fun! Mentoring is a great way to make friends & experience new things!

Mentoring Matters is a school-based program matching students in Grades 4 through 8 with adult mentors.

Students meet with their mentors once a week in a fun academic setting that includes both tutoring time and enrichment activities.

Students and mentors help choose what the activities are, along with field trips. Activity busses are available to provide students with transportation home following mentoring.

How Do I Participate?

Being a part of Mentoring Matters Program is easy!  For information and an application, call the Northland Area Family Service Center in Remer at 218-566-2779.

Once the application is completed and returned, a short interview with the student will help us find just the right mentor. Orientation will be provided through the Mentoring Matters Program and its partners.  That's it!
